Each layer of the muslin is woven in a different way, which gives it a specially-designed weave pattern and minimizes pilling and friction damage. Hartwell spent a lot of time researching weaving techniques to develop the Cuol series of fabric to find a material that was so gentle on the skin that anybody could use it.
